Highland Community Park Field Policy Effective 1/24/12 The Highland Community Park Board has established this policy to govern the use of the baseball fields at the Highland Community Park. Any organization or team interested in using one of the baseball fields at the Park is directed to go to the Park’s website at www.highlandcommunitypark.com and click on “Calendar of Events” to determine field availability. to confirm availability and reserve the field. Please also note the Home Team Diamond Responsibilities for field maintenance and the Highland Community Park Concession Stand Policy. All home teams will be required to pay a fee of $200 for the 2012 season to practice/scrimmage or have games on the Highland Community Park grounds. This fee is due in advance of any practice/scrimmage or game. Whether one game is played or 30, the fee remains the same. There will be no per game fee. Forward check made payable to Highland Community Park, P. O. Box 222, Marengo, Ohio 43334. Tournament fees are separate. Please refer to tournament secion below. The following policies shall apply for the reservation and use of the baseball diamonds: Ø All Highland local community teams shall have field priority. Ø For last minute schedule changes resulting in a field not being used, a coach must contact its sponsoring organization to notify it of field availability. If the field will still be available, contact Debbie Snell, concession stand Manager, Gary Hampton, or Victor Wiley, grounds manager, via the Park website. That contact should be made at least the night before or as soon as you know the practice/game is cancelled. If the team or organization fails to contact, the following shall occur: § First occurrance – The team shall receive a warning. § Second occurance – The team or organization shall be assessed a fine of $35. This team will be unable to use any field until the fine is paid. Ø The Highland Community Park Board reserves the right to terminate the use of the fields, therefore, canceling games, due to inclement weather if it deems the situation warrants. The safety of the players and the integrity of the fields shall be determining factors. Best efforts shall be made to contact the person reserving the fields but the Board cannot guarantee that will occur in a timely manner. Regardless, it is the team/organization reserving the fields that must take responsibility to verify conditions at that field and communicate that to its teams, players, parents, umpires, and concession workers. TOURNAMENTS Ø The Highland Community Park Board requires a $400.00 nonrefundable fee to reserve the fields for a tournament. Fee is to be paid in full 6 weeks prior to tournament. Morrow County league and high school tournaments are exempted from the fee. Fee refundable on if the Park is closed due to weather-related issues. Off Season (September 1 through May 1) is $250 nonrefundable fee. Ø The Highland Community Park Board does not permit gate fees to be charged on the days of the tournament. Ø The Highland Community Park Board reserves the right to deny the use or limit the use of the fields to teams or organizations based on prior performance issues regarding maintenance, scheduling or payment of fees. Tournament Director may elect to have volunteers work the concession. Note: Twenty percent (20%) will be paid of the gross sales, less compensation due to the Concession Manager.
